Messin’ ‘Round | Steve & Cherry

Cherry loved Steve, mainly because he’s the one she’d go to if she feels sad. He could crack a joke and make her day. She wore her favorite T-Shirt and a pair of jeans. Something she wouldn’t wear when going out with other people. She head towards the garage, walking. On the way, lots of things went through her mind. Is this for real? First, she went out with Ritchie, one of the Southies. And now, she’s going to mess around with the Southies? It seemed wrong, but it’s hard to say no to Steve. He’s such a sweetheart. She stood in front of the garage, waiting for Steve.

At the diner || Ritchie and Cherry.

leroy-ritchie:

cherry-nator:

The conversation didn’t die yet, and that makes Cherry happy. She hates it when conversations die, it makes her feel bad. She’s not very good in conversing, but she tries hard. He’s a potential good friend. She likes it when she gets to know new people, and get to know more about how other people live their life. She’s eager to know more about Ritchie, that’s for sure. ‘Yeah, this place is gunna be a fav’rite.’ She said, stuffing more pancakes in her mouth. ‘Yeah I would. Right to ya deepest secret.’ She said, assured. She finishes the last bits of her pancakes and drinks her drink. ‘Sure I’m listening. Most people would tell me ta go where the wind goes. Follow everyone.’ She said, remembering what most people would say to her. ‘Yeah well ya should.’ She said, drinking her drink again. ‘I was thinkin’ of droppin’ school, but I dunno.’ She said, sighing.

Ritchie was now actually having fun, his thoughts never actually ran off to the fact that she was a Northie, and he was thankful for that. Obviously she was a beautiful girl, he noticed the colour of her eyes and all things like that. Letting a small frown now appear on his features at his own thoughts he stuffed some more pancakes into his mouth before letting his face go blank. “I reckon. I like it ‘ere.” Letting his eyes dart around the diner for a moment, a small smirk now spread on his lips, looking back at her. “No-one knows my deepest secret. Reckon no-one ever will, either.” Ritchie was known as the goofy guy and he liked it that way, he didn’t like doing the serious talk thing. “Yeah? Why do you wanna drop school?” He finished off his pancakes and pushed the plate to the side, picking up the glass and taking a mouthful. “School weren’t for me when I was there either.” Pulling out his cigarette packing from his trousers, he hugged it between his lips and lit it up, offering her one as well.

Cherry looked at Ritchie frowning, wondering what’s he thinking. Well she was thinking of one thing; is this right? She feels guilty, like she’s betraying the other Northies. Cherry has a bad habit of thinking too much to the extend of making herself worry. She shook her head and cringed her nose, throwing the thoughts away. She proceeded to reply to his remark, ‘Well I’ll be the first, then.’ she said as she grinned widely. She’s good with secrets and most people believe her with their secrets. ‘Well, I am gettin’ bored with it. Not that I’m stupid or anythin’, damn, my mum says I’m smart. but it’s just…everyone’s droppin’ school. Seems like the right thing ta do.’ she said. She realizes it’s just the peer pressure, but maybe it’s more than that. ‘I’ll have to think ‘bout it thoroughly. I ain’t so sure yet.’ she looked at the cigarette Ritchie offered, thinking twice about it. She declined every cigarette offered to her so far, but she feels like smoking one this time. And it’ll be her first. So she takes one, not sure what to do next.

to occupy the mind, cherry & jo

theother-winston:

She watched the scarlet-haired girl surface from the house with a yell over her shoulder and popped the cap back onto the tube of her lipstick, plastering a smile across her face and waiting until her friend was seated beside her to start up the engine. “Ain’t nothin’ like torture, Cherry,” she flashed her friend a dimpled crimson grin from the side, and with one flick of her hand, she’d turned on the radio to a station where Elvis Presley songs were playing as she departed with a rumbling, thundering motor, and from there, her dainty wrists tossed the wheel in an indelicate and heedless manner. The scenery morphed around them, from trees that hung high in the air to stumps low to the ground, and words fell from her mouth as easily as her hands moved across the wheel.

“You seen Johnny ‘round, Cher? Me and Frankie’s gots our suspicions that the Northies’ve done somethin’.” Her eyes narrowed as she words flowed from her mouth, a natural reaction to her remark. Although she had a strong disfavor towards the situation with both sides of town, she certainly didn’t like the thought that her older brother had been harmed.

Cherry grinned back at her, agreeing with her statement. Jo is very matured, and was definitely someone Cherry likes to hang out with. ‘Charmer.’ she said the moment she hears Elvis on the radio. She watched as Jo drove the car, wishing she could. She’s begged her dad for one, but he said she’s going to have to buy it herself, because he ain’t going to spoil her. She folded her arm across her chest, thinking about so many things at once. That’s when Jo asked her the exact same thing she was thinking about. ‘I haven’t. And it’s gettin’ me crazy, thinkin’ where could he be.’ she said, looking outside the window. ‘Northies? Oh ya mean the Southies?’ she asked, puzzled.
